Riyadh Metro Red Line extension set for tunnelling phase

Summary:

The Riyadh Metro Red Line extension has achieved a key milestone with the completion of the tunnel boring machine (TBM) manufacturing and testing. The TBM, designed for diverse geological conditions, will excavate the 7.1-km underground section linking King Saud University and Diriyah Gate. The extension includes 7.1 km of underground tunnels and 1.3 km of elevated track, adding five stations, with two at the university and three in Diriyah. This project aims to enhance Riyadh's public transport network and connectivity to Diriyah.
